What about missed lessons?

We aim to maintain mutually respectful, understanding and supportive relationships with our students and to be reasonable and flexible when addressing their needs, and ask to be treated with consideration in return. As such, we request that students give advanced notice of any absence from lesson.

Before commencing regular lessons at Amaranth Music, students are required to sign an enrolment form agreeing to accept the terms and conditions of Amaranth Music's Cancellation Policy.

We generally request that notice of absence is given before 10am on the day of absence:

• In person;
• By phone call;
• By email, or;
• Via SMS text message

Earlier notice is always appreciated, especially in the event of an extended illness or holiday.

What happens when due notice of absence is given?

Generally, refunds and credits are not given for missed lessons. Instead, students who have given due notice of an absence, are granted a Make-up Lesson.
Make-up Lessons are scheduled at a time that is convenient to both student and teacher, usually within the same school term as that of the missed lesson, or during an upcoming school holiday period.

What happens when due notice of absence is not given?

Lessons missed without due notice are generally forfeited at full rate. In such cases, concession students paying on a lesson-by-lesson basis are issued with an invoice to cover the fee of the forfeited lesson. It needs to be paid within three weeks of its receipt.

What happens when lessons are cancelled by Amaranth Staff?

In the event that an Amaranth Staff Member needs to cancel a lesson, Advanced Full Fee Paying Students are given the option of scheduling a Make-up Lesson, or carrying this lesson into their next term of lessons. Concession Students paying on a lesson-by-lesson basis, have the option of scheduling a Make-up Lesson or forfeiting the missed lesson at no charge.
